Nate's Birthday

What a fun weekend! We travelled to Georgia for Cousin Nate's 1st birthday party. Jimmy was on his annual Orlando business trip, so it made for a perfect getaway for us, so we wouldn't big ol' Texas by ourselves. Aunt Kim and Uncle Brad planned the cutest "farm" themed party to celebrate Nate's big day. The kids had so much fun swimming, and Kendall showed some "cousinly" love by helping Nate enjoy his birthday cake.

Jace got his 1st tooth

Yes, he got his 1st bottom tooth this morning. He's been a gnawing machine and I could feel it under the surface the past few days, Then today it made its appearance. It was a challenging night; he was up about 4 times crying, but we got a tooth out of it. :~)
Tomorrow, we are flying to Georgia for Nate's 1st birthday. Kendall is so excited! Jimmy happens to be making his annual trip to Orlando for work, so it worked out perfectly for us to make a weekend trip home for his birthday! I can't believe it's been a year since "Peanut" was born. We can't wait to see you! (I just have to get my Twizzlers ready for the plane ride. :~)

Jace's Funny Faces

Mr. Bright Eyes
Is that the sweetest face?!

More Easter Pics

What did Jace love best about his basket???
When we asked Kendall what she wanted for Easter, she would say "Candy Apple." We couldn't figure out where she got this from but look what the Easter Bunny left her. :~) This was a labor of love. I couldn't find candy apples anywhere, so Jimmy and I made them.

Kendall loved the Bunny. :~)

Kendall's Preschool Easter Program

Jimmy, Jace, and I went to see Kendall in action today at her school's Easter program. It was absolutely precious! She sang "Jesus Loves Me" like a champ. Sorry for the blurry video. We took a lot of other short videos but this was the least blurry of all of them. BUMMER!!

And I love how right in the middle of the song, she tries to get the little boy next to her on track. That's my girl!! :~)

Kendall's Dentist Visit

First off, I am so disappointed I didn't bring my camera to her appointment, so I don't have any pics to post. So, the past few days, I've been playing it up to Kendall how exciting her 1st dentist exam is going to be and how they'll use a cool toothbrush to clean her teeth. And they'll even use this super neat camera (x-ray) to take a picture of her tooth (the one that's broken). But although I was outwardly acting that way towards her, I was dreading it. I kept remembering the x-ray fiasco last year when Kendall first broke her tooth!!! Not fun!!!

So, Kendall, Jace, and I head into the office and this sweet hygenist greets us. She showed Kendall "Al The Alligator" and how much Al loved to have his teeth brushed. She let Kendall practice brushing his teeth. Then, she began Kendall's cleaning and Kendall was an absolute dream, following all the hygenists directions to a "T". Kendall let her clean her teeth very thoroughly and even wanted to do it on her own when she was finished. (Maybe the "marshmallow paste" as the hygenist called it really tasted good.)

So, next is X-rays....dun, dun, dun..... all I can say is it was a breeze!! She sat perfectly still, I didn't even have to assist the hygenist, and they used an actual handheld x-ray "gun" to take the pictures. Boy, was I impressed with how easy this process was!

One last thing...her front broken tooth is a bit of a concern b/c of the amount of enamel that is gone from it being broken. The dentist says we aren't going to do anything to it unless it starts to abscess which is likely because of how grey it has become in the past few weeks. So, if that happens, it will need to be pulled. As of now, I just have to monitor it. So, no biggie!

And one more "one last thing".... here's a bit of our conversation today before nap:
Kendall: I want to wash my baby's hair.
Me: Well, the baby is bald and doesn't have any hair to wash.
Kendall: The baby's bald???
Me: Yes, when you have no hair on your head, you are bald.
Kendall: Baby needs to see the doctor.

So, if you are reading this and you are bald, you might want to go see your doctor. :~)

Spring Fling in our neighborhood

There was an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Kendall, with Jace's basket, and the 2 eggs she found. Go girl!
Jace's Easter outfit....what a cutie!

Kendall's BF Kennedy (our neighbor's little girl) playing with the parachute.

Here's a pic of the Bunny. Who's scarier?! Her or the bunny you find at shopping malls??!!

Kendall absolutely loved the barrel train ride and you can tell by the picture that Jimmy did too. I was laughing so hard because Jimmy smooshed himself into the barrel to ride along with her. And, in true Kendall fashion, she wanted to ride it about 3 times and Jimmy obliged :~) What a great Daddy he is!

Update on Jace and April 2, 2005

Great news!! We took Jace to the Pediatric Cardiologist this morning and she ran several tests that confirmed his heart is just fine. Basically, as we learned today, he has a "kink" in a pulmonary artery that will straighten out by the time he is 1. She assured us we should have no worries. We felt a weight lifted as we left the Dr.'s office. Thank you, God!

Also, besides the good news with Jace, today is a special day for me and Jimmy as it is our 4 year anniversary. Seems like yesterday we were getting married in the most beautiful city on the most beautiful of days. I am truly grateful for the blessing he is in my life.

And on a totally different note, I think you will enjoy this video of Kendall feeding Jace. She loves to be a helper. He is doing great with eating a variety of solid foods. He loves pears, apples, and peas. And we are working on liking squash. :~)

Funny things Kendall says

The funny things Kendall says and does just keep on coming..... Yesterday, as we were leaving her school driving home, she tells me "Mommy, too fast." I'm not sure where she came up with that but I had to laugh because she was right.... I was going a bit too fast. Once again, she's my little backseat driver. :~)
Then this morning, I was turning on the TV and there was no signal from our satellite. So, as Kendall's waiting patiently to watch Diego (of course) she says, "Mommy, get "battees" (batteries) for the TV." And what you have to understand about this is that anytime something in our house is not working, Kendall thinks the fix is "battees".

Kendall 2 1/2 years old

Kendall's a girl on a mission for sure. She's always got something going on in that little head of hers. It's never a dull moment with her around. For instance, today as we were leaving preschool, she started giving me directions-- "Turn this way," "No Mommy, turn around here." Talk about a backseat driver. It was hysterical. I don't know where she gets it. (Or maybe I do. :~)

Jace..... he had his 6 month appt. on Tuesday. He weighs about 15.5 pounds and is 25.5 inches long. He got a good report on everything but the dr. made reference to a heart murmur and referred us to a pediatric cardiologist. I have to say I was a bit freaked out by that news, but since have done some research and talked with friends and family who have calmed me down a bit. The appointment is next Thursday, so I'll update later with the news of what the P.C. says. Also, he's had quite the fever since his shots on Tuesday. In fact, last night I decided to take him to urgent care b/c it got as high as 103.7. I thought there could possibly be another issue going on (ear infection) but after several tests, the dr. said that while it's rare, some babies can have a fever that high b/c of shots. No fun!!! I don't like when my babies are sick. :~(
