Cathy comes for a visit!

It meant so much to me that my dearest friend, Cathy, came to Denver to visit me. Moving to a new city is always a little difficult until you meet friends, so having her here was awesome! Girlfriend time is a must in my book.....and when you have a friend that just gets you, keeps in touch no matter how many times you move, laughs and cries with you, cares about what you have going on in your life.....you know what you have? You've got a lifelong friend. So grateful for you C!

Oh, and we also share this other thing that our husbands just love (ha!)....a little shopping "issue" when it comes to Michael Kors. You always need a new handbag.....right?!

Kendall's Cheerleading

All ready for the competition!! Let's go Kendall ;-)

Kendall decided to get involved with cheerleading and tumbling when we moved to Colorado and has really excelled at it. The best part as her mom and is seeing how much confidence she has gained through this type of activity. I clearly remember a year or so ago, this being my little shy girl, and I must say, that wasn't the same girl I saw at her CheerSport competition. Front row of her team, dancing, smiling, nailing the choreography.......she rocked it! A great moment for her and a really great moment for Mommy.

Mimi and Pap Pap come for a visit! DOG SLEDDING Adventure

Mimi and Pap Pap came to visit us, and we decided to head up to Breckenridge for a day of dog sledding. We found a company in Breckenridge called Good Times Adventures that does all sorts of winter sporting activities and booked our trip. It was everyone's 1st experience with dog sledding.

When we arrived, we met our guide who handed us a huge black snowsuit and "advised" us to put it on because of the elements. Nervous? Yes, you can absolutely say that. It was a bit frigid that day and the snow was coming down fairly heavily. Next, our guide took us to meet the pack of dogs, followed by teaching us the ropes of driving the sled. Fairly simple....just controlling a pack of 8 dogs.....sure! I was getting even more nervous, admittedly. After a quick lesson and a few pats on the head for our dogs, we were off. Jimmy took the 1st leg of the run and did a great job. Next, I was up. And guess what, I had a blast! Smooth sailing right through the breathtaking Colorado Rockies. It was seriously one of the most exciting things I have ever done and to have that landscape to ride through put the icing on the cake. Kendall and Jace even took turns driving the sled with Jimmy on smoother, slowers parts of the trail. And, of course, Mimi and Pap drove the sled. I believe Pap took one of the hardest stretches with some big bumps and hills but it was his birthday, so we had to give him that extra special treat.

Betcha you thought this Southern girl couldn't hang in Colorado, huh....and especially be out dog sledding. Well, you are wrong. ;-)

Happy Birthday Pap Pap!! We were very excited to celebrate Pap's birthday while he was here with us in Colorado. The kids decorated his cake and even made a party game for him.....so cute!

Denver has a really cool aquarium that the kids wanted to visit. We met up with another family and spent the day there.

Jimmy really wanted his picture taken with the mermaids but I had to tell him it was only for kids.

Meeting Libby for the 1st time

In February, Kendall, Jace, & I went back home to Georgia to meet our new neice/cousin Libby. It was our 1st meeting, yet she was already 3 months old. I guess all that moving we did to Colorado kinda got in the way. :-) Kendall was ecstatic above having a girl cousin and gladly would have taken over all of Aunt Kim's mothering duties. She certainly was a great little helper! And talk about a precious, beautiful baby girl.....that would be sweet Libby. Kendall and Jace both asked incessantly if they could have a baby sister. (My answer: we are working on it!......... totally kidding Gammy and Mimi....don't be getting excited b/c it's not going to happen. LOL!)
