Last year, it was Jingle Bells. This year it's Frosty.

Comment of the Day
No, this wasn't made by Kendall. I could post her comments hourly.
A lady at Kroger looks at me and says, "Your son is sooooooo cute! He looks just like (long pause and obvious thinking on her part....) Winnie the Pooh."
Say what??!!! And what was my response back.... "Well, yes, he does look like Winnie the Pooh."
Alrighty then....

Jace is up to lots of new things....
I assure you that I wasn't lying to the Grandparents when I told them Jace wasn't saying but 1 or 2 words (mama and dada). Well, he sure has proved me wrong..... In just 2 weeks, his vocabulary has blossomed and he seems to be getting a word a day. He has been trying really hard to say the words that are said to him. You can see those wheels just turning away. Gammy even got him to say "Kendall", not clearly by any means but distinguishable. So cute! Then he really caught me off guard when he pointed to the bowl where I keep bananas and said, "nana." I'm just loving this new stage in his development.
He's also such a little flirt. Just today in Marshalls, he was waving to the ladies saying "Hey." Sometimes he says "bye" but his word of choice during our shopping trip today was a clear "Hey". He quickly made friends with an older lady in the shoe department and she was eating it up. She must have been a grandma. ;)

Check out this video of Kendall
Kendall started reciting this Pledge of Allegiance this evening out of nowhere. She never ceases to amaze us in all the she is learning. What a sponge!

Kendall's already getting excited about Santa
I'm putting Kendall down for her nap today, and she tells me she needs to put on her Christmas dress to go see Santa. I tell her that it won't be too long and she'll be able to go see him. So, then the conversation goes about like this:
Kendall: Will you take my picture with Santa?
me: yes
Kendall: Do you think Santa will smile?
me: of course, will you?
Kendall: Yes! (excitedly) Santa's going to love me.
me: Yes, he sure will.
Kendall: Will Jace go see Santa?
me: yes
Kendall: Will Santa love Jace?
So, she went on and on with tons of questions, and it was so funny to see how she was trying to figure this whole Santa thing out. Last year, she cried, so we shall see how she reacts to him this year.

Dallas Arboretum
This place is gorgeous! It's about 30 minutes from our house and each year they have "Autumn at the Arboretum." Today was "Tiny Tot" day with activities centered around children. There was a pumpkin house, hay maze, petting zoo, and much more. Kendall and Jace loved the pumpkins, the most any of us have ever seen, and the hay maze.

Plumber Jace
Jace is now doing small chores around the house and so far he's doing an excellent job! And did I mention how much he loves it! This morning, he used the squeegee to wipe down the shower. Here's the pic...look at how much fun he's having!
Then, his next chore was plunging the toilet. He enjoyed this chore so much, that he cried when I took the plunger away from him.

Another Kendall story
(Just too cute not to post)
Scenario: Jace is in the high chair. I'm feeding him. Kendall's in her tutu (only) dancing around.
Kendall: Mommy, dance with me.
(So, I finish feeding Jace and Kendall and I dance.)
Kendall: Mommy, you need a princess dress.
Me: Well, I wish I had a pretty one like yours. (still dancing)
Kendall: Mommy, I want Daddy to take me to a castle.
Me: Daddy would love to take you to a castle.
Kendall: But Daddy would need to put on his princess dress.
Maybe you just had to be here but it was precious!

Where's Kendall?
When I took Jace upstairs for his nap, I peeked in on Kendall who was supposedly napping, but she wasn't in her bed or her room. I had a quick feeling of Oh my gosh....where is she!!?? until I noticed the guest bedroom door was closed. I walked in to see Kendall sitting on the floor just relaxing, and humming along to the song on the clock radio. She had turned it on and placed it on the floor next to her. It was quite funny but short lived b/c I walked her back to her bed. When she got in her bed, she asked, "Mommy, can I please listen to my radio?"
I just went up to check on her and she is out and yes, the radio is on.

Jace takes a shower
This is one of those things you would have just had to see to laugh like Jimmy and I did. I was letting the water warm up w/ the shower door open and JaceMan just made his way right into the shower clothes and all. He was just laughing and playing away and when Jimmy went to take him out, he started crying. It was absolutely hilarious!

Happy 1st Birthday Jace!
And back to the beginning....1 day old
In this picture, Jace is about 5 weeks old and had just started smiling.....
6 months

Like Daddy, Like Son (10 months)

Like Daddy, Like Son (10 months)
Jace turns 1 today, and I can't believe how fast this year of his life has gone. The night before he was born, I remember sitting in the kitchen with my family (Jimmy, Kendall, Gammy, Papa, Mimi, and Pap Pap) guessing Jace's weight and length and trying to envision whom he would look like. Then, our 6 lb. 10 oz., 19 inch mini Jimmy was born and since that day, life has taken us on an awesome journey as a family of 4.
He has learned so much in his first year, but the thing about Jace that sticks out the most is his smile. He has this amazing smile that radiates through his eyes and his whole face beams. My hope for him is that as he grows, he continues to smile that same awesome smile and be the happy little guy that absolutely lights up our lives.
