Weekend in Vail w/ The Shaw's

After our Boulder day trip, we went west to Vail.  It was pretty chilly and unfortunately raining off and on, but we managed to ride bikes from our resort over to the main village.  We saw a Mom and 2 baby moose along the way.

Gondola ride up the mountain

Those are clouds surrounding our heads.  That's tells you how high in elevation we were.
Jimmy & Curt....the picture does nothing for the outstanding view behind them of the valley

Back at the resort.....had an awesome terrace level patio right on the river

Couples Night

Views outside of our patio of the river....talk about the best sound in the morning to wake up to.

Visit from the Shaw's

Our best friends, the Shaw Family, from Texas came to visit in July, and I wish I could
have kept them here forever.  The kids played so well together from the minute they saw each other.  Kendall and Jace were so sad to see them leave, but I can only hope it's not too long before we all can get together again.

Below are a few pics from our day in Boulder at Chatauqua Park.  The views were incredible of downtown Boulder.

Summer 2013 Visit to Georgia & South Carolina

We made our annual visit back home in June, and we had a lot of lost time for which to make up.  Our littlest cousin Libby was just 3 months when we saw her last and now had gotten so big.  The kids loved staying at Gammy & Papa's house with their cousins.  It was nonstop entertainment for us all.  I think all of the adults were slightly exhausted by the time we left, but we wouldn't trade it for the world.  Our time is always short and sweet and leaves us excited about seeing our cousins again.
Quite the crew.....showing off their guns

Not bad for a group shot of 5 kids 5 and under

Memorial Day Weekend 2013 in Vail and Glenwood Springs

Biking through the Villages of Vail

The path runs along this beautiful river the whole way.

Pictures don't do justice to what they eye can see.  Above is the river in Vail and below is the tunnel you drive through on the way to Glenwood Springs.  That is possibly the prettiest drive I have ever been on, right through a canyon along the Colorado River.

Several more pics of the drive along I-70 to Glenwood Springs

The Hot Springs Pool in Glenwood Springs.  Beautiful mountain setting in the background and supposedly the minerals in the water do wonders to your skin, but it was jam packed and very expensive to get in for the day.  I'm glad we went and experienced it.

On our way home from Glenwood Springs, we stopped along the Colorado River and played in the freezing cold water.  I mean FREEEEEZING cold water.  Talk about take your breath away.....the surrounding their are beyond words.  The kids had an absolute blast and were a lot braver than  myself when it came to getting in the water.
