Not a lot of words to describe how precious this pic is to me.

Father's Day with Mimi and Pap Pap

Jimmy had a great Father's Day with Mimi and Pap Pap and the kids. Kendall and Jace were very excited to see them. On Thursday, we went to downtown McKinney, had lunch, and did a little shopping. It was a short but wonderful visit and as always, we were sad to see them leave. We'll be excited to have Mimi, Aunt Jenn and cousins Zac, Kenzie and Ty visit in July.

p.s. Pap Pap-- Jace says thanks again for the ice cream.

Kendall, Kendall, Kendall....

Talk about a mind of her own.... We've been having this ongoing battle with shoes. Kendall has this 1 pair of yellow polka dot sandals that she wants to wear with every outfit and it drives me crazy. Well , I've started sitting out 2 or 3 pair of shoes from which she can choose (obviously leaving out the yellow ones). This morning, she goes back to the shoe drawer, pulls out the yellow ones, sets them next to the other pairs, points and says, "That pair, Mommy!" So, yet another day of wearing the yellow shoes it was. :~) As my mom has always told me, learn how to pick your battles. Thanks Mom, I'm certainly learning how to do that. :~)

Jace crawling!

Jace has started crawling a few weeks ago and now, nothing is off limits. Well that's if he had it his way! :~) Kendall, as you see in the video, is such a little mommy to him. It's hilarious!! She coaches him and he certainly loves his big sis!

Kendall's 1st Dance Class

We decided to enroll Kendall in a summer dance class with 4 of her friends from our playgroup. It's 1 day a week at a studio here in Allen and the 1st class was quite interesting but went rather well. She learned a few new things and after a little persuasion, fell right in step. She said she liked the "elephant" dance move the best. And now, she walks around the house swaying her arms in front of her like an elephant's trunk. Very cute!! I'm not sure what this was called but she had to lay on her belly with her hands under her chin and kick her feet.
Doing the choo choo train... She loved it! (These are 2 of Kendall's friends, Katie and Lilah.)

An interesting evening at the Hoffner house

Kendall, Jace and I had an eventful evening in our 3X 5 hall coat closet. Just as we were finishing dinner and watching our nightly episode of Diego, I realized the tornado sirens were going off. My initial thought was "oh my gosh, how long has that been going off?" I had just been outside a short time before watering flowers oblivious to any bad weather coming. So, I made a mad dash with the kids to the closet, get them situated and then make a run for books, crayons, and sippy cups. And, oh yea, Bailee. Poor guy can't be alone during all of this. Meanwhile, the tornado siren's still going off and at this point I can start to hear the thunder and wind picking up. I take a second to turn on the news in my room to learn that we have severe weather, 50-75 mph winds and a tornado spotted in Plano. Lovely!

So, I go back to the closet with Kendall and Jace where it started to get uncomfortably warm very quickly. (And, Jimmy, just in case you were wondering, is at a business dinner in downtown Dallas at Ruth Chris enjoying a wonderful, juicy steak completely oblivious as to what is going on 25 miles north at home.) Kendall proceeds to tell me.....oh yes..... "I gotta pee." Of course, this would happen but we certainly aren't getting out of this closet for anything, not even for her to pee. Then we lost power and guess what..... no flashlight. (From here on out, one will just permanently live in the closet.) Thankfully, the power was only out for a few seconds but it felt as if it were an eternity. However, the loss of power triggered our carbon monoxide detector's ear piercing chirp for a good 10 minutes. At this point, it's all a little too much to handle, but I certainly was thankful the power came back on quickly. And I did sprint to get the portable potty, so it made for an even more pleasurable closet experience when Kendall used it. :~) Gotta love her!

I'm writing this now laughing because everything besides the actual storm was quite comical. Of course, it all would happen when Jimmy's not home, right?! And when I finally got a hold of him, turns out his evening at Ruth Chris wasn't quite as lovely as planned as they got hit with the storm, also.

So, I learned 2 things from this....turn off Diego every once in awhile to watch the news and don't forget the flashlight AND portable potty next time we have another North Texas bad weather adventure.

Goodnight!!

Kendall's Last Day of Preschool

Here is Kendall on her 1st day of 2 year old preschool, September 2008. And below are the pics from her last day, May 2009. Her school had a carnival and I got to go over and spend a few hours with her. It was a lot of fun, but I think we were both a bit sad it was her last day. She absolutely loved her teacher and classmates this year!!! Next year, we start preschool at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. What a cute bunch!!
Still the tiny one :~)

Kendall loves Mrs. Keller.

30 lbs!!!! Gone Baby Gone!!

I finally hit that mark this past week!!! I've lost 30.5 pounds to be exact and have been religously sticking with my weightloss program. It's taken a longer time than I wanted but I plateaued for about 3 weeks.
Only 20 more pounds to go to get to where I was when me and Jimmy started dating!!!! YIKES!!
