Broken camera still....Sorry--no pics for awhile

This broken camera thing is driving me mad but it has forced to use my video camera a bit more this past week. I've gotten some great video of the kids. Kendall loves to sing to Jace. He's heard ABC's so much lately that I think it may be the 1st thing out of his mouth when he starts to talk.
We've had a busy yet wonderful week. I'm thankful our sicknesses have all cleared and we can get out and enjoy this amazing Texas weather. Kendall begs to go to the park so we've made several trips. We've also had a ton of errands to run and while taking both kids from store to store is challenging, they've done so well. Kendall's fighting me a bit on riding in a stroller or cart but for the most part, she does a good job of walking with me. She'll usually find something to entertain herself in the aisle while I shop.
We had a nice treat today... Jimmy came home at 4:00. This is a rarity for sure. He knows there is nothing I love more than when he arrives home on a Friday. It's the start of a wonderful weekend with my family and that makes me really happy!
We are hoping we get our new car this weekend. The dealership gave us a loaner car- an Acadia and it's awesome!! It's not the car we are getting but I really have a little adoration for it.

Well, we are heading out here shortly to get a new camera and grab a bite to it. Cheers to the weekend!!

2 weeks!

(my camera broke so this post won't have any pictures. for those that know me well, I don't function well without my camera, so I've been a little bummed the past few days.)

The countdown is on!! 2 weeks until we go home. We haven't been home since we moved to Texas in July, so we are definitely ready. Kendall's been talking incessantly about seeing her grandparents and visiting their houses. It's going to be a blast!!
And to my friends in Atlanta, I'll staying an extra week (til March 14th) so I definitely hope I get to see you. We'll have to do lunch or have a playdate with our kiddos. I miss you all so much and can't wait to see you!

A lot has been going on as of lately...I've actually decided to send Kendall to another preschool in the fall. I'm sad b/c we've loved her preschool this year. The new school happens to be more cost efficient for the same amount of days and hours. Plus, I also want her to go to a 1 day a week gymnastics preschool. She gets regular preschool instruction but also 45 minutes of gymnastics instruction. It's at a gym in Allen. So, if we can make this happen, she'd go to her church preschool on Monday and Wed. and the gymnastics preschool on Thursday.

Kendall has a fat lip. She tripped on a toy in her playroom while carrying her cash register. She fell face 1st on the register, and her tooth went into her upper lip. By the amount of blood I saw on Kendall's shirt, Jimmy's shirt, the carpet, and the cash register, I thought she'd lost a mouthful of teeth. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped quickly and her lip was the only victim. She's one tough little girl.

Jace is 100% better. I'm so happy about this b/c little man has been sick so much in his short little life. This last virus lasted over 2 weeks and resulted in breathing treatments. He's now back to himself, playing and smiling and that makes me really happy.

And while I don't write a lot about myself, I thought I'd share a little something. I've lost 13 pounds. I'm really working hard at it and while I have a lot more to go, I'm beginning to recognize the smaller goals. 13 down- 30 to go!!! YIKES!!

A little update on Jace

Jace 4 1/2 months

I had to post these pictures because I can barely believe it myself.... Jace is starting to sit up. When I took him to the doctor the other day, he sat up independently for the 1st time for a minute or so. He was on the examination table looking into the mirror just admiring himself. He's very strong and tries really hard to balance himself. We've been practicing a few times a day and he is doing very well and seems to really enjoy it.

Kendall singing part II

Kendall's loves to sing her ABC's but don't try to sing them with her or she'll tell you to "shh, shh, shh". I don't know where she picked up this "shh, shh, shh" thing but I can't help but laugh everytime she does it.

So here's the best video I could get of her singing her ABC's. In true Kendall fashion, she becomes a bit distracted half way through the song.

Jace's playgroup

Does it get any cuter than a circle of babies!? Look at my little man with his friends. One of my friends took this pic but I had to post it b/c I just love it.

A visit from Mimi and Jimmy goes to the Superbowl

While Jimmy was in Tampa for the Superbowl, Mimi came to stay with us. It was fun to get out and do a little shopping. I always appreciate an extra set of hands to help with the kids. And as always, Kendall was sad when Mimi had to leave. She kept saying "Mimi in the plane."

Do you see the smile on their faces? Jimmy had an absolute blast at the Superbowl with his Dad. What an opportunity to be in the middle of all the excitement as the Steelers claimed victory. I was so happy that he had the chance to go, spend time with his Dad and just have fun! What a game it was! Go "Steers"!!

I'm still laughing!

Look closely at this picture.....can you figure out why I was laughing so hard? Check out her pants or underpants more like it. Yep, Miss Kendall insisted on putting her own underpants back on after using the potty and this is how it ended up. I didn't even notice until an hour or so later when she was coloring. I looked over and just started laughing hysterically. Then, together, we fixed it.
Here's Jace after his bath. Jimmy gave baths tonight and when they came back downstairs, this is how little man looked. It was so funny but the picture says it all; Jace didn't like that bandana on his head.

A lazy day at our house

Are you comfortable Kendall?

Here's Jace's new toy... his feet. I put brightly colored socks on him and he'll play forever with his feet. (Play the video.)

Dallas had an ice storm come through last night so we are stuck at home today. Every once in awhile it's nice to hang out in your pj's and just do nothing. That's pretty much been our day today. As you can see by the picture above, Kendall's propped in front of the TV watching Diego, her absolute favorite cartoon. I'm about to cuddle up with her.

As far as the potty training, she is doing fabulously! I was dreading getting her trained. I guess I envisioned constantly cleaning up pee and poo all over my house but can't believe how easy it was. I read 3 day potty training, compliments of my friend Alexis, and got some great advice from my mom & Jimmy's mom and while 3 days was a stretch, she had it down in about 5. She wears big girl panties during the day except at night and nap.

Some other big news is that Jimmy's going to the Super Bowl. He's like a kid in a candy shop. If he could have done a happy dance yesterday when the plans started coming together, he would have. I'm so happy he gets to go b/c he works so hard, so he definitely needs a day of football and fun! Also, Mimi, Jimmy's mom, is coming to Dallas on Saturday. Kendall and I are definitely excited to have some company.

Well, I gotta run or should I say go be lazy. I'm off to cuddle up in a warm blanket w/ Kendall. I jut pray Jace sleeps a bit longer. :~)

Jace's 4 month check up

Jace had his Dr. visit this morning. He weighs 13 lbs. 9 oz. and is 24 inches in length. He is doing fantastic and growing great but still on the small side. All of his measurements were in the 20th percentile. Like I've always said, he may be small but he certainly is strong. He's so close to rolling over tummy to back. When he's on his tummy, he tucks 1 arm under and tries his hardest to roll over. He just needs that little extra push to get himself going.

OK-- below may be TMI (Too Much Information) but it's mainly for the grandparents:

Kendall wore big girl panties to school today. I brought her potty seat (the one that fits on the big toilet) to school and she insisted on carrying it into the school. I was bit embarassed I must admit. Most kids are carrying just backpacks and then there's Kendall.... backpack and potty seat. But if you know Kendall, then you know she insisted because she wants to do it herself. Anyway, when I picked her up, I was praying that I'd see her in the same pants that I dropped her off in and thankfully, that was the case. Her teacher, Mrs. Keller, told me she didn't have any accidents but didn't go to the bathroom either. While I would've hoped she'd used the bathroom at school, I was just thrilled that she didn't pee or poo in her pants. And sure enough, as soon as we got home, she did both in the potty. Go Kendall!!!!

Nasal Aspirator and "Thank you"

Now I know you are thinking.... what in the world is this going to be about!!?? Well, give me a second and I'll tell you. As many of you know, being a mom to a toddler and baby is quite a thankless job. But today I got a great big "Thank you" from Kendall. Yes, I sure did as I was using a nasal aspirator to suck snot out of her nose. She stood patiently on a chair as I used the aspirator to clear her out. Then when we finished, she hopped down, looked at me and said "thank you." Now you have to understand, I usually have to prompt the "thank you" for receiving gifts, when someone does something nice for her, etc. But, nope, when I use the nasal aspirator, no prompting necessary. I get a big ol' "Thank you." I just love it!

(p.s. Thanks Gammy for the battery powered nasal aspirator. Works like a charm! And your granddaughter seems to just love it!:~)
